Jeanne Dalton Memorial Tournament
Ian Taylor Volunteer of the Year Award
Jeanne Dalton Heart & Soul Award
Dave Jones Love of the Game Award (new 2024)
At the end of every season, we get together at the Fergus Legion to celebrate with dinner, drinks, dancing and awards! There is a DJ, a locally catered dinner and an awards presentation. Our awards include the Jeanne Dalton Heart & Soul Award, the Ian Taylor Volunteer of the Year Award and Meanie Points.
The Ian Taylor Award is given to an exceptional volunteer that dedicates their time and passion to Centre Wellington Minor Softball Association. A new volunteer is named each year that embodies the devotion Mr. Taylor gave to CWMSA year after year. All participants, parents, players, volunteers, and staff of Centre Wellington Minor Softball Association vote on this award, as Ian's contribution was felt by everyone. This award is open to everyone, including coaches, board members, parents and community members. You can vote here.
This award is in memory of an incredible woman who inspired an entire league. Jeanne Dalton was a volunteer for CWMSA for many years before she passed away suddenly in 2011. The entire league mourned this loss, and we named this award after the Heart and Soul she put into her time with us. This award is open to coaches, players, board members and other volunteers. You can vote here.
The annual recipient of this award is an individual who has shown exceptional sportsmanship and shared positive energy with everyone they encounter at the diamond. A person who has made a positive impact on not just their team, but on the spectators, staff, and all of the other players of CW Softball. All players in the adult divisions vote yearly on the winner, and the results are announced at the end-of-year Adult Banquet.
Jeanne will be missed, but forever remembered through the recipient contributions to this league, the annual Memorial Tournament, and the beautiful maple tree planted behind the bleachers at the Fergus Jim Tye diamond.
This new award is in memory of a wonderful volunteer that served CWMSA and our players for many years. It is open to all players in a youth division and is awarded to a player that truly embodies the love of the game. This player should exemplify the following:
This award goes to the player that collects the most "meanie points" on Sundays for making it look too easy when they get other players out on the diamond. This is a goofy award and is not meant to shame or punish the recipient. It is all in good fun to keep the spirit of the game light and friendly. This award is open to "Sunday Funday" Adult 3-Pitch players. You can vote here.
